Economía is the journal of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA). It was launched in 2000. With GDN's support, LACEA has been publishing 2 issues of the journal, in the spring and fall of each year. Economía holds an annual panel meeting, concurrent with LACEA’s Annual Meeting, where a selection of published papers is presented and discussed. Economía’s issues and panel meetings are made possible thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors: Global Development Network (GDN), The World Bank, The InterAmerican Development Bank, LACEA, Fedesarrollo, Yale University, Universidad de los Andes, and The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University (DRCLAS).

Aims and Scope
Published by the Brookings Press, ECONOMIA publishes peer-reviewed research papers and reviews covering a range of topics in applied and empirical economics that are of policy relevance to Latin America. Economia’s emphasis is on rigorous applied quantitative work that uses modern analytical tools, including descriptive work using novel or underexploited databases. Consistent with its aim, the journal also publishes critical surveys of work on policy-relevant areas. With few exceptions of clear policy-relevance for the region, Economia does not publish theoretical work. Calls for papers are issued twice a year (Spring and Fall). View details in the Call for Papers link on the left. Submission guidelines are also available through the same link.
