Job Opportunities at CID

Job Description: Summer Assistant

There is a huge imbalance between the generation of knowledge and its subsequent translation into interventions and practices that improve environmental decision making and deliver benefits to communities. Working in 7 countries across East Africa, South-East Asia and Latin America, our research explores the conditions under which research knowledge can influence the practice and behavior of policy makers, practitioners and resource users. We seek a summer research assistant who has familiarity with bibliographic databases at Harvard University libraries and is proficient in conducting literature searches. An ability to organize information to allow easy retrieval is crucial. The assistant will have the opportunity to co-author outputs related to this literature search and to create linkages with researchers involved in on-going exchange programs between Harvard University and international research centers based in Africa and Asia. Please send a one page note to Esther Mwangi and Delia Catacutan at the Center for International Development (esther_mwangi@ksg.harvard.edu and delia_catacutan@ksg.harvard.edu), indicating your experience in conducting comprehensive database searches and organizing information, and include the name and email address of one referee who is currently faculty or staff at Harvard.

Job Description: Student Administrative Assistant

Seeking a Student/Administrative assistant to work in a friendly, flexible, and fast paced office environment. This position will work closely with and support the Center for International Development's (CID) office manager and assistant director. Main duties will include general administrative tasks, liaising with CID's Visiting Scholars, fellows, and other staff, and other tasks as assigned. Attention to detail, discretion, patience, and a can-do attitude are required. The ideal candidate will be available 10 - 20 hours a week and be able to work at least 4 out of 5 business days. An interest in international development is a plus but not required. Please send cover letter and resume, including work study status, to cid_admin@ksg.harvard.edu.
