Corrado Clini is Director General of Italy’s Ministry for the Environment Land and Sea and Chairman of the Global Bioenergy Partnership launched at the G8 Gleneagles Summit. Dr. Clini is project leader of national and international cooperation programs (240 projects in 45 countries) on environment, energy and sustainable development and is chairman of the National Sustainable Development Strategy and the Task Force for the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol in Italy. He is a Senior Research Fellow at Harvard’s Center for International Development, an Associate of the Harvard University Center for the Environment, and a Visiting Professor at the Tsinghua University in Beijing in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. He trained as a medical doctor and received his PhD in public and occupational health.
