An International Conference on

Iceland and The World Economy:
Small Island Economies in The Era of Globalization.

Cosponsored by Islandsbankí, deCode Corporation, University of Iceland and Center for International Development at Harvard University.

Starr Auditorium, Kennedy School of Government, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA
May 20, 2002

This conference will bring together policy makers, political and business leaders and development experts addressing many of the pressing challenges that very small economies face in today's global economy. It will be a rare and important gathering of experts on 'microeconomies', or economies of less than a million people (in many cases less than 500 000). How do countries like Mauritius, Iceland, Micronesia, Caribbean island economies and others manage to do so well - or not so well - in the age of globalization?
