Guadalupe Challenge 2007
Spring Break Opportunity for KSG Students in Mexico: Spend a week in Mexico helping the Guadalupe community in Monterrey.
For KSG and EGAP students:
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Guadalupe Challenge. This initiative, sponsored by the City of Guadalupe in coordination with the Kennedy School of Government and the Escuela de Graduados en Administración Pública (EGAP) of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, is designed to provide a hands-on consulting opportunity for our public administration/public policy students.
Guadalupe city is located within the metropolitan area of Monterrey, the industrial capital of Mexico. It (Guadalupe) has approximately 700 thousand people, mostly middle-low and low class and working in the industrial, manufacturing and commerce sectors. This community is currently facing many of the typical challenges of a rapidly growing urban setting. It is in light of these challenges that the local government would greatly benefit by your input and knowledge in the public administration/public policy field, while you in turn gain from the learning experience provided by this opportunity.
Monterrey, the capital of the State of Nuevo Leon on the northeast border of Mexico, is the second largest metropolitan area of the country. It is one of the three most important cities in Mexico because of its industrial, economical and educational development, making it one of the most promising economically dynamic cities of Latin America for this century.
