2008 Spring Break Opportunity in Oaxaca

Spring Break Opportunity for HKS Students in Mexico: Spend a week in Mexico!

For HKS and EGAP students:

The Mexico Program is able to offer two students the opportunity to participate in a project in Oaxaca, Mexico. Students will participate in "Si No Llueve", a film produced by the Mexico Program chronicling developmental challenges that two communities in Southern rural Mexico face. Students will be members of a joint HKS/ Monterrey TEC/EGAP team. They may also be interviewing and filming.

The team will travel to Oaxaca on March 22 - March 30. We are looking for students with an interest and background in issues related to poverty, community development, and developmental policy. We are also looking for students with good communication skills, powers of observation, interest in doing fieldwork, and the ability to work in a team. At least one of the two must be fluent in Spanish, but we may accept one without Spanish if he or she is a strong candidate in other ways.

In order to be considered students must submit:

All materials must be submitted to Sandra Oliveira. Materials may either be emailed or dropped off. Please send emails to: sandra_oliveira@ksg.harvard.edu. Hard copies can be left with Sandra Oliveira in Rubenstein, 3rd floor 310E.

Please direct any questions to Sandra Oliveira, the Mexico Program administrator, at sandra_oliveira "at" ksg.harvard.edu, 617-495-9965, or in Office 310E in the Rubenstein Building.
